Ik mag zo af en toe ook graag naar Ierse muziek luisteren. Slide en Danú vind ik bijvoorbeeld erg goede Ierse bands. Country en Ierse muziek komen prachtig samen in deze vertolking van Molly Bawn door Alison Krauss van haar album A Hundred Miles Or More: A Collection. Alison wordt op deze song begeleid door The Chieftains, een van de meest bekende bands uit Ierland. Oorspronkelijk komt Molly Bawn van hun album Down The Old Plank Road: The Nashville Sessions waarop meer groten uit de country vertegenwoordigd zijn. Countryster Patsy Cline was de eerste vrouw die een plaats kreeg in de Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1973 en ze kreeg in 1995 een Grammy Award voor haar hele oeuvre. De grote doorbraak van Patsy kwam in 1960 door het vertolken van de country song ”Walking’ After Midnight” op TV en werd er beroemd door. Wereldberoemd werd Patsy Cline door het nummer ”Crazy” geschreven door Willy Nelson. Ondanks haar korte leven heeft Patsy Cline veel roem vergaard. Helaas overleed Patsy Cline op 30 jarige leeftijd door een vliegtuigongeluk, dat was op 5 Maart 1963.
