Mag ik aan u voorstellen Tammy Wynette, ze wordt ook wel de first lady van de country muziek genoemd. Omdat Tammy Wynette het niet gemakkelijk had (een ernstig ziek kind) probeerde ze `s avonds wat geld bij te verdienen in locale gelegenheden, daar werd zij ontdekt en ze kreeg een TV optreden aangeboden dat was in 1965. Ze verhuisde in 1966 naar Nashville en scoorde in 1968 en 1969 vijf nummer 1 hits waarvan Stand By Your Man haar bekendste hit was. Ze had een kortstondig huwelijk met George Jones en scoorde in de jaren 1970 en 1980 ook nog wat hits maar die werden sporadischer. U gaat luisteren naar de song ”D-I-V-O-R-C-E” omdat juist deze video laat zien en horen dat Tammy Wynette ook op wat hogere leeftijd de tand des tijds echt wel had doorstaan. Maar helaas ze had een broze gezondheid en die werd steeds slechter, Tammy Wynette stierf op 6 April 1998 aan een overdosis medicijnen.
