Jessie G – “Army Ranger”
Jessie G grew up in the small coastal town of Brookings, Oregon. Born into a four generation commercial fishing family, Jessie spent much of her childhood working the docks earning money to pay to pursue her dream as a musician. In 2013, Jessie entered a “Battle of the Bands” contest where she won an opening slot to perform for Grammy Award winning country music artist Gretchen Wilson. Gretchen was highly impressed by the young artist and urged her to pursue writing and performing full time in Nashville, telling her, “send me an email when you get to town.” Several weeks later Gretchen received notice that Jessie had made the move. Since, Jessie G has signed with Gretchen Wilson’s Redneck Records and has been hard at work on her debut release. Her first single, “Army Ranger” was released last month and was produced by Gretchen Wilson as well. The video shows a variety of scenes surrounding service members, their families and the emotional filled times they live in. This heartfelt patriotic video would be a great feature for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
